Thunderfist is one of those uniques that can change the feel of a Monk build the moment you equip it. It asks for level 65 and 44 Dexterity and Intelligence, so it is not something you throw on early. But once you can wear it, the payoff is easy to see: a solid evasion and energy shield base, plus the granted Crackling Palm skill. If you are putting together an unarmed lightning setup, you will usually end up spending some PoE2 Currency to get a pair with rolls that actually matter, because the wrong version can feel far weaker than the item name suggests.

Most players treat Crackling Palm as the real reason Thunderfist exists. The skill is usually shown as level 15, even if a few trade listings look a little different because of corruption or odd data pulls. The important part is what the patch changes did to it. With a higher base critical strike chance and more lightning damage built in, it stopped feeling like a side bonus and started looking like a real damage engine. That said, the item still has a strict rule: those offensive stats only matter for unarmed melee hits. If you are using a staff, casting from range, or leaning on minions, a lot of the power is simply wasted.

This is where the Martial Artist side of the class tree gets interesting. Hollow Palm scales attack speed from your evasion and base crit from energy shield, and Thunderfist gives you both defenses in one slot. That makes the glove fit the loop almost too neatly. The faster you attack, the more often you trigger your on-hit effects. The higher crit rate also helps the whole setup feel smoother instead of clunky. If Way of the Stonefist is working the way early previews suggest, then gloves like this could scale even harder as your character levels. You start to notice the rhythm of the build pretty quickly, and once it gets going, it is hard to go back.

Thunderfist is still a rare drop, so there is no easy boss farm or neat div card shortcut to rely on yet. That means trading is where most players end up, and that is where people get careless. Do not just skim the item name and move on. The added lightning damage can swing from 77 to 111, and attack speed can sit anywhere from 1% to 11%, which is a massive gap in real damage. You also want to check the lightning resistance and the defensive rolls, since those can make a cheap-looking pair turn into a bad buy.
