Starting a Warlock from scratch in Diablo IV Season 13 feels a bit different from picking up a geared character and blasting familiar routes. You don't have a bank full of diablo 4 items, spare Aspects, or saved materials to smooth out the rough parts. That's why the early tier list matters. It's not judging what looks flashiest at endgame. It's asking a simpler question: which Warlock setup gets you to level 70 with the fewest headaches.

Dreads Claw Warlock is the build most players should look at first. It sits at the top of the A-Tier for a reason. The build seems to cover the stuff that matters while levelling: quick clears, decent safety, and a rhythm that doesn't fall apart when your gear is awful. That last part is huge. Fresh seasonal starts are messy. You'll replace weapons every few levels, your defensive rolls will be random, and your damage can feel great one dungeon and flat in the next. Dreads Claw appears to handle that uneven climb better than the rest.

Minion Warlock is also in A-Tier, and for a lot of people, it may be the more relaxed choice. If you like letting your summons soak pressure while you reposition, this is probably where you'll feel at home. The exact details still aren't clear, so we don't know the full summon count, stat scaling, or how heavily it leans on specific passives. Even so, a minion-based style usually helps during awkward levelling moments. You can back off, kite a bit, and let your army keep enemies busy. It won't always be the fastest, but it should feel steady.

Blazing Scream, Hell Fracture, and Eviscerate Warlock all land in B-Tier. That sounds worse than it really is. These builds can still level, and plenty of players will enjoy them more than the top picks. The issue is efficiency. Maybe Blazing Scream needs better cooldown flow. Maybe Hell Fracture wants stronger gear before it really clicks. Eviscerate may simply ask for more careful positioning or tighter play. When you're levelling with nothing unlocked, small delays add up. A few slower elite packs here, a few extra potion taps there, and suddenly the climb feels longer.

The current ranking assumes you begin with nothing carried over. No prepared Tempers. No perfect Codex setup. No lucky Aspect waiting in storage. There also doesn't seem to be a clear seasonal free Aspect marker attached to these Warlock builds, so don't plan around getting one handed to you early. That means your first hours will be about practical choices. Take the stronger weapon, keep your defences reasonable, and don't chase a perfect build guide that doesn't exist yet. The tier list points you in the right direction, but you'll still need to adapt as drops come in.

If I were rolling Warlock on day one, I'd start Dreads Claw unless I wanted a slower, safer summon style. Minion Warlock is a strong second pick, especially if you're playing while tired or grouping with friends. The B-Tier options are worth trying later, once you've got a feel for the class and a few better drops. Some players will also check market options like Diablo 4 Items buy while planning their season, but the smartest move early is still simple: pick a build that works with bad gear and keep moving.
