The World Baseball Classic program feels like one of the first big reasons to live in Diamond Dynasty this year, especially if you're trying to build a usable squad without wasting time or MLB 26 stubs on cards you'll replace in a week. Instead of one long reward path, MLB The Show 26 splits the event into four pools, just like the real 2026 tournament. Each pool has its own 100-point track, its own national-team flavour, and its own batch of WBC cards. You can grind one pool, bounce between two, or chase all four if you've got the patience.

How the pool grind works
The program sits inside Mini Seasons, which is a smart move. You're not just ticking boxes in menus. You can drop your Diamond Dynasty team into the WBC-style setup and play through shorter or longer seasons, depending on your mood. Seven-game and 28-game options are available, and you can pick 3-inning or 9-inning games. Every pool has the same basic backbone: 10 Moments worth 3 points each, a Showdown worth 10 points, and Series Missions tied to WBC Series cards. Those missions ask you to pitch innings, strike hitters out, collect hits, hit extra-base hits, and launch homers. Keep WBC hitters and pitchers active early, because you'll stack mission progress and Parallel XP at the same time.

Rewards worth chasing first
The reward tracks are pretty easy to read once you've seen one of them. Player cards drop at every 10-point step, while packs and XP are mixed in along the way. The big prize in each pool is an 89 OVR card at 100 points. Pool A ends with Nolan Arenado. Pool B has Bryce Harper, which will probably make it the busiest path at launch. Pool C finishes with Hyun-Min Ahn, and Pool D closes with Didi Gregorius. The 55-point WBC Gold Players Pack is sneakily important, though. Open it early and you may get another card that helps finish pool missions faster. The 85 and 95-point marks also give extra MLB The Show 26 Packs, so pushing past 80 points isn't just for completionists.

Which pool makes the most sense
If you're asking where to start, it depends on what your team needs. Pool B is the obvious pick if you want Bryce Harper and a strong path that also includes names like Randy Arozarena and Jac Caglianone. Pool D is nice if you don't want to grind all the way to 100 straight away, since Juan Soto shows up at 60 points and can help plenty of lineups. Pool C has a different pull. The Tokyo Dome unlocks at only 5 points, and cards like Travis Bazzana and Masataka Yoshida give that pool a fun international feel. Pool A is still solid, especially with Hiram Bithorn Stadium early and Arenado waiting at the end.

Parallel mods change the grind
The new Parallel system matters more than it first appears. Instead of every level handing out a flat boost across the board, Parallel Mods let you guide upgrades toward the attributes you care about. That means you can lean into a power bat's strengths, fix a weak contact rating, or make a pitcher fit your style. Hitters also earn Parallel XP at the same rate as pitchers now, which is a big quality-of-life change. If you're planning your roster, don't quick-sell useful WBC cards too soon, and if you're filling gaps with buy cheap MLB 26 stubs, make sure those cards still help with missions instead of just sitting on the bench.
